An online competition, Do the Whitsundays, was launched today by 50 tourism operators who have joined forces in an independently organised social media campaign to promote tourism in the region. The competition offers the chance to win a 25-night Whitsunday holiday including flights from anywhere in the world. Entrants have until 14 August to accumulate as many entries as possible by sharing the Do the Whitsundays Facebook page with friends. "Obviously, both Tourism Australia and Tourism Queensland are already heavily involved in the Queensland recovery efforts but it's great to see the industry helping itself - further proof, if it were needed, that nothing beats Queensland," said Tourism Australia’s Managing Director Andrew McEvoy.
