June 11th - 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. - CONFEDERATE HISTORY WEEKEND – History is in the air as in the days of the Civil War at Prairie Grove Battlefield. Activities during this weekend include camp life and other living history activities throughout the weekend at various times and locations. Visitors are encouraged to wander the grounds and talk with the reenactors. Presented by volunteer reenactors from the Prairie Grove Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) Thomas C. Hindman Camp #656. Meeting place: Dogtrot House and Ozark Village Area - Admission: Free
June 11th - 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. - CANNON FIRING DEMONSTRATIONS WITH FIRST ARKANSAS LIGHT ARTILLERY - Cannon firing demonstrations are scheduled every hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. See the smoke, hear the boom, smell black powder burning, and feel the Civil War experience come to life. Presented by volunteer re-enactors from the 1st Arkansas Light Artillery. Meeting place: Dog Trot House in the Ozark Village - Admission: Free
June 11th - 10 a.m. & 12 p.m. – GRANDMA STORIES - A Living History Presentation On The Front Porch Of The Dogtrot Cabin By Grandma-From The Land Of Used To Be. Performed By Linda Doede Grandma Will Tell The Story Of Samuel Pittman Sgt Co K 34th Arkansas Infantry Confederate Survivor Of The Battle Of Prairie Grove. This 20 Minute Presentation Will Take Place Immediately Follow The Cannon Firing Demonstration. At 10 Am And 12. Admission: Free
June 12th - 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. - SPINNING DEMONSTRATION - See members of the local Wool and Wheel Handspinners Guild demonstrate the ancient art of spinning thread, and discuss the basics of making cloth in the Arkansas Ozarks. The Wool and Wheel Handspinner have their monthly meeting here at the park on the first Wednesday of each month. Meeting place: Hindman Hall - Admission: Free
June 18th - Starts @ 9 am – GRAND OPENING FOR HINDMAN HALL - A reception and tour(s) will follow the ceremony, along with other Civil War activities in the park. Guests are invited to explore the grounds and speak with re-enactors throughout the day. Enjoy complimentary admission to Hindman Hall.

September 3rd to 5th - 60TH ANNUAL CLOTHESLINE FAIR - Explore more than 200 craft booths with artisans demonstrating and selling their wares. Living history, musical entertainment, and square dancing are all important parts of this celebration. Refreshments available through the Prairie Grove Lions Club and other local non-profit vendors. Admission: Free. Parking is $5 per vehicle.
September 24th - 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. - FALL CLEAN–UP & PARK BEAUTIFICATION - Looking for a way to give of your time and talents? Volunteers are needed to help clean and beautify the battlefield and park grounds. Cleanup activities range from trash pickup, raking leaves, repairing and replacing split rail fence, cleaning park roads and trails, gardening, and maintenance and cleaning the historic houses on the grounds. Some tools will be provided. Please bring gloves and tools if possible. Coffee, water, and some snacks will be provided. Meet at Hindman Hall Visitor Center. Admission: Free
October 22rd - 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. - HAUNTED BATTLEFIELD TOUR - Tour groups will be guided from the amphitheater to the front of the historic Borden House along part of the park's walking trail. We'll also go down into the valley where the heaviest fighting occurred during the actual Battle of Prairie Grove. Chances are good that there will be a few scary surprises along the way. Tours depart every 20 to 30 minutes. The last tour will leave at 10 p.m. Parking is available at the east Borden House entrance. Meet at the park Amphitheatre. Admission: $2 adults, $1 kids Passes will be required for specific tour departure times. Passes are available the day of event.
December 3rd & 4th - 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. - CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE – Christmas will be in the air as in the days of the Civil War at Prairie Grove Battlefield. While food is cooking in the Latta House kitchen, members of the local Wool and Wheel Handspinners Guild and the Dogwood Lace groups will be demonstrating spinning, weaving, and lace making. There will be guided tours through the historic Latta and Morrow houses. Various military drills, camp life, and other living history activities will be included throughout the weekend at various times and locations. Presented by volunteer reenactors from the NW 15th Ark Infantry and Cannon Demonstration with Walker’s Light Artillery. Admission: Free
2012 – December 1st & 2nd – 150TH ANNIVERSARY BATTLE OF PRAIRIE GROVE RE-ENACTMENT - The park will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Prairie Grove. The original battle, fought on December 7, 1862, saw about 22,000 soldiers fighting most of the day, with about 2,700 killed, wounded, or missing. Every even-numbered year, Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park hosts a battle reenactment.
