“FREE DAY”, a free day on the snow dedicated to children
A free day on the snow for all children up to 12 years old. This is the \"Free Day\", the initiative created for children on Sunday 18th December 2011 and coordinated by TurismoFVG (Friuli Venezia Giulia Tourist Board) with the collaboration of the local tourist associations. This special promotion will be applied in all the regional ski resorts, from Tarvisio to Sella Nevea, from Ravascletto/Zoncolan to Forni di Sopra, up to Piancavallo. There will be many advantages for children: first of all, the possibility to have a free one-day ski pass and to hire the equipment (Alpine or cross-country skis, snowboards, boots and helmets) for free. Moreover, those who want to learn to ski for the first time or to improve their technique will have a ski instructor at their disposal from 9 a .m. to 1 p.m. free of charge. Finally, a food gift will welcome the children on the ski runs. The “Free Day” is an initiative coordinated by TurismoFVG (Friuli Venezia Giulia Tourist Board) with the collaboration of Promotur, local ski schools and instructors and tourism associations. But there is also the support from the ski hire shops, the Alpine huts, bars and restaurants of the ski areas. In each ski area you will find a well-visible welcome point, at which a ski instructor will be present for the entire duration of the promotion, where you can apply to take part in the initiative. On this occasion, don’t miss the family package holiday “Weekend Sci Gratis” (Free skiing weekend) thanks to which children up to 12 years old stay free at the hotel sharing their parents’ room from the exceptional price of € 40,00. In this case the promotion is not limited to December 18! On December 17, the children of families that take advantage of the “Weekend Sci Gratis” package holiday can enjoy a dog sledding lesson, a snowshoe tour in the forest or a horse-drawn sled tour for free.
