Select the country and object's type Award-Winning Musician Randy Granger to Kick off \"For the Love of Art\" Month at Branigan Cultural Center

The Branigan Cultural Center will feature a concert by award-winning local musician Randy Granger as it kicks off \"For the Love of Art\" month, Feb. 3, 2012 from 5 -7 p.m.

A multi instrumentalist and composer, Granger performs on Native American flute, World Percussion and vocals. He headlines many Native American and World Music festivals around the country and his music is heard on NPR, Music from the Hearts of Space, Sirius and stations worldwide.

Granger is a Las Cruces resident and has composed for multi-media art shows and the NMSU Dance Department. Awards include the Indian Summer Music Award, New Mexico Music Industry Awards and two Native American Music Awards nominations also knows as the NAMMY\'s.

National Public Radio featured his use of an unusual instrument called the Hang in 2007. His most recent album, \"Pura Vida-This is Pure Life\" featured a collaboration with late Las Cruces poet Wayne Crawford as well as Mariachi Real de Chihuahua trumpeter Marcus H. Royo.

\"For the Love of Art\" is a month-long celebration of art in Las Cruces. The Branigan Cultural Center will feature musicians, dancers, poets and an exhibit of art by many local artists throughout the month of February.

The concert will take place during the Downtown Arts Ramble, which also features art, music and gallery openings. The Branigan Cultural Center is located at 501 N. Main Street.
