Time: Noon - 4:00pm both days
Location: Maryland Science Center
Cost: Free with paid admission
Who should attend: Everyone
When: Saturday June 9 and Sunday June 10
Circus Science rules the day with lots of hands on exploration of what it takes to control the chaos of a three-ring extravaganza. Learn how to ride a tiny clown bike, juggle, and even walk across a wire. Traditional carnival activities will be set up throughout the Maryland Science Center where you can play games, win prizes and create crafts to take home while learning how science applies to each activity.
Be sure to catch Science Circus performed by Rhys Thomas where circus and science combine. His comedic performance involves bowling ball juggling, Chinese yo-yo spinning, six foot unicycle riding, glass bowl spinning and many more of your favorite circus stunts. Participate in this show both Saturday and Sunday at 1:00pm and 3:00pm both days and learn the science behind each trick.
A special appearance will be made on Saturday by the Walter Johnson High School Rubik’s Cube Club. Club members will demonstrate how to solve the puzzle and help you beat the cube too. On Sunday the Eldersburg Yo-Yo Club will cover everything from beginner basics to advanced tricks. Former Yo-Yo World Champion, Chuck Pribulick, will also be present with the club.
If you’ve ever dreamed of running away to the circus here’s your chance—and you’ll still be home in time for dinner.
All activities are free with paid admission, and completely free for members
