New Orleans, June 4, 2012: The Creative Alliance of New Orleans (CANO) is hosting a sensational new fundraiser, \"Hot & Bothered\" June 20th, 2012 at the home of Calvin and Francis Fayard, 5809 St. Charles Ave, New Orleans from 6-9pm. The summer solstice festivities kick off promptly at 6pm and feature an interactive performance between the audience and models from 6-7pm. At 7pm sharp the performance/fashion show of swim and summer wear will begin. This piece is choreographed by Monique Moss and will show off designs by Elizabeth Eckman, Alicia Zenobia, Oliver Manhattan, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Carolina Gallop, Xiomara del Carmen & Alton Osborn. These items will be auctioned off during a silent auction. Music will be provided by the amazing Nasimiyu Murumba.
Several swim and summer wear costumes from the vaults of the famed Hollywood based Western Costume Company, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary on the same night, will also be modeled. A pop-up boutique will include vintage and newly designed swim and summer wear, and wonderful accessories including jewelry by Billie Beads, Mignon Faget, Douriean Fletcher, Penny Meaux, Robert Tannen, Liz Sloss and Mario Via.
This event is to benefit the Creative Alliance of New Orleans whose mission is to provide training, education, and information for creative artists, cultural producers and the community, to protect our cultural legacy and to promote the revitalization of the city as a cultural and economic center. CANO works to provide resources and opportunities for creative and cultural producers through our Creative Studios Program, Professional Development program, our CANOpener Networking Events and Art Home New Orleans, our tour of private art collections and studios. Please consider supporting us and supporting the creative economy of New Orleans.
Food and beverages will be served throughout the evening at this elegant poolside site. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at http://cano-la.org. Refreshments will be provided by High Hat Café, Vacherie Restaurant, Catering D\'Orleans, Liberty\'s Kitchen, Shake Sugary, Oceana, Creole Creamery, Whole Foods Market, Pal\'s Lounge, Kentwood Water and many other great restaurants.
