Kos - Greek island in the Aegean Sea, the second largest in the Dodecanese archipelago. The island’s area - 290 sq. km. The relief of the island is mostly flat, but to the north-east there is a mountain range with the top peak – Dikeon Mount (846 m). The climate - Mediterranean: hot and dry summers and mild winters. The island is very green, and golden sandy beaches stretch for 110 kilometers. Kos - one of the biggest international tourist centers in Greece. On the island there is a large number of attractions. Among them: Asklepieion - the temple of God- healer Asclepius, the Fortress of Knights of St. John of Rhodes, Greco-Roman quarter, Agora, the Archaeological Museum, the Mosque of Haji Hassan and many others. Kos is known all over the world as the birthplace of Hippocrates, the founder of medical science. At the entrance to the fortress the famous sycamore grows. It was planted by Hippocrates, according to a legend. In fact, this tree is much younger. The Theatrical festival "Hippocratic Oath" is annually held in Kos. At the island there are all conditions for a full and varied holiday: well-developed network of hotels - from economy to luxury, many cozy restaurants and bars where one can taste dishes of Greek cuisine and local wines, numerous discos.
