Sightseeing of Salzburg. Mirabell Gardens were laid out in 1690 near the eponymous palace. Prince Wolf Dietrich built this palace for Salome Alt, his mistress, who bore 15 children for him. The palace was rebuilt many times, and now little remains from its original view. As for the Mirabell gardens - today it look much the same as it was in 1730 - fountains, terraces, marble sculptures, green theater, garden of gnomes. In former bird’s aviary - an Exhibition Pavilion. A popular excursion to Salzburg - "Following the sounds of music." It was the Mirabell Garden, where children of Salome Alt sang "Do-Re-Mi".
