Belfast hosts 20 US conference bookers for fam trip
BVCB, Hilton Belfast and Continental Airlines have jointly hosted a delegation of 20 American conference booking agents for their first familisation trip.
The agents, from Los Angeles, New York and New Jersey, got to see first hand the city’s conference venue and services portfolio.
During their time there, delegates visited some of Belfast’s key attractions including the soon-to-be-open Titanic Belfast and the Metropolitan Arts Centre, as well as the Belfast Waterfront and Odyssey Arena.
The US delegation visit follows an announcement earlier this month that Belfast will hold next year’s 43rd annual conference of the British and Irish Association of Law Librarians (BIALL) in June 2012. The three-day conference and networking event is estimated to generate in the region of 1,200 bed nights and £500,000 to the local economy.
