Some of the world\'s best-selling and reputed travel publications have praised Belfast and Northern Ireland in the latest editions of their guides. Lonely Planet has again branded Belfast a \"hip and hedonistic party town\" whilst Fodor\'s has named the city one of the top 21 places in the world to visit - highlighting the new Titanic Belfast attraction and the ship\'s 100th anniversary commemorations as some of the reasons to \"go now\".
Additionally, Pierre Josse, the chief editor of French travel guide \"Le Guide du Routard\" has praised the friendliness of Northern Ireland people saying \"I have always been very fond of Northern Ireland and have found the people there as friendly as any I have met\".

The new ni2012.com website powered by NITB\'s discovernorthernireland.com has gone live. The site features details on landmark events happening throughout the year in Northern Ireland as well as a \"plan your 2012 itinerary\" feature and a link to the new Discover NI advertisement.
Royal Portrush to host Irish Open
This year\'s Irish Open golf tournament will be staged at Royal Portrush for the first time since 1947. The tournament will take place from 28 June to 1 July.
Circuit of Ireland rally to start in Belfast for first time in over 20 years
A global motorsport phenomenon will roar into Belfast this Easter, as the 2012 Donnelly Group Circuit of Ireland Rally joins the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) series in an event that will be broadcast to almost 80 million around the globe. As part of the Titanic Festival, Good Friday will see thousands of spectators descend on Titanic Quarter as 120 competitors, including the best Irish drivers and IRC stars from around the world, race across an adrenaline filled track of more than 2km, specially designed to guarantee incredible spectator viewing. It is the first time in over 20 years that the rally will start in Belfast.
The rally then powers south for 14 more stages over two days centred round the historic host city of Armagh and also including a city centre Power Stage in Lisburn which attracted 15,000 spectators last year.
