Art gallery is one of the most important art museums in Germany. Under the roof of the Pergamon Museum, located on the magnificent Museum Island in Berlin, there are three of the exhibitions – the Collection of objects of classical antiquity, the Museum of the Middle East and the Museum of Islamic Art. The unique pieces of art and architecture of ancient Greece, Rome, Babylon, Assyria, and also of culture of Islam and the Middle East are stored here. The New National Gallery is located in a modern building of glass and steel, built by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886-1969). There is a constantly growing collection of European and American art. Reichstag has become the Parliament building again. Old National Gallery is known for its collection of German and French Impressionists of the19 th century.
