Rest in Algeria. Algeria is located in the western part of the Mediterranean basin, in North Africa. From the VIII century the country was a part of the Arab West. 8 centuries later it was ruled by the Ottoman Empire, and in the XIX th century has became a French colony. Only in 1962 Algeria has became independent as a result of a seven-year war against the domination of France. This is the second largest state on the continent. Most of its territory is occupied by the Sahara desert, in the territory of which sandy, pebbly and gravelly areas replace each other. Here, among oases near the southern border is the highest mountain of the country - Mount Tahat, height of 2,908 m. To the north of it the mountain range - Tell Atlas stretches along the coast and there Chelif - the main Algerian River takes its source. Adjoining bays are used by local residents for export of iron ore, petroleum, and for fishing. Mountain slopes, covered with abundant grass are used for grazing. Choosing a tour to Algeria, be sure to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Ethnography and Ancient History, the National Museum of Fine Arts and the National Museum of Antiquities, where you can see many interesting exhibits. In Constantine do not miss Cirta - an interesting museum, where famous archaeological relics are stored, and also the ancient city walls, built of sculptures, and Sidiel-Cattani mosque (XVIII cent.). Trips to Oran are very popular. There you can admire the Great Mosque (XVII century.), the citadel of Santa Cruz, and the ruins of the ancient city of Afrodizium, which use to be a center of early Christianity.
