Vacations in Algeria would be incomplete without a visit to the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Djemila. In times of antiquity it bore the name of Cuicul. The city is located in a mountainous area at an altitude of about 900 m above sea level, and is considered to be a well-preserved example of Roman town planning. Many attractions in Djemila worth attention: the temple of the emperor Septimius Severus (193-211) and his wife Julia Domna, the forum, the basilica, amazing mosaics, the Triumphal Arch of Emperor Caracalla. There are also ruins of ancient buildings, the Capitol, the theater and thermal baths
