
Holiday in Greece. Mykonos - one of the Aegean Sea islands, relating to the Cycladic archipelago. According to a legend, the island is named after Mykonos - the ancient hero. In Greek mythology, at this island Hercules destroyed giants, whose bodies were turned into rocks. There are beautiful beaches, windmills, villages on the island. The central port city of the Mykonos island is situated on a plane - it is a snow-white town with narrow cobbled streets, small cottages and cozy taverns. Local sailors, before they go to sea, vow to build a church in case of a safe return home. Therefore, in Mykonos there are more than 700 churches. Not far from the port, one can see the Byzantine church of Paraportiani, and in the city’s outskirts - Little Venice - Alefkandra. The Archaeological museum houses artifacts from Riniya island and the amphora of the VII th century BC, which shows the Trojan horse and the fall of Troy. In the Ethnographic museum one can see a collection of musical instruments, antique furniture and icons. Tourist service at Mykonos is of a high level. There are wonderful hotels and a large number of beaches, including nudists (Paradise, Paraga and Elya). The beach of Platis Yialos is equipped to study all kinds of water sports, Psarou beach offers a diving school. There are many small desert rocky islets around Mykonos - a paradise for anglers.
